Inspiration by Ansel Adams

There are many photographs that I have told myself I should shoot, but always asked myself "who would have interest in this"? That all changed yesterday when I flipped through a book of 400 black and white images done by Ansel Adams and to my surprise, and inspiration had a number of images such as the ones I had questioned. This morning I went out and surprised myself before it began to rain!

Waterfalls

Recently I went out searching waterfalls. Here are falls from the Watkins Glen, NY area! Enjoy the recent images taken in the beautiful spring weather here in the Finger Lakes. More waterfall images and where you can photograph these rushing waters can be found on my nature site.

Spring Portraits with Chickens

Sooooo, I just got 5 beautiful baby chickens!

Maria and Jon's Wedding

Another trip made to beautiful Buffalo, NY to photograph a wedding for the second time for the family. Her sister's wedding last May was my VERY first wedding ever and I guess they thought I did a good enough job that their parents hired me back for their other daughter.

Now I'm not sure exactly what Dad was proposing, but after he walked Maria down the isle, he unfolded a piece of paper from his pocket and had a few words with Jon. Much laughter was shared in the first rows during the ordeal. And the ceremony was on it's way.

I felt so fortunate to photograph a wedding in such a beautiful church. And feel even more fortunate to have the abilities and equipment to photograph weddings such as these without the use of the flash. The natural light and briliance of the church is lost with the flash.

I absolutely fell in love with this group portrait.

The great thing about photographing weddings is that no two weddings are the same and in every wedding have walked away with unique images to that wedding. This image of Maria and Jon is no exception and absolutely love the romance and love that the image shows!

This group absolutely knew how to have fun! Beginning with the catwalk and the garter toss are only a couple examples, but the following images are exactly what they say when "a picture says a thousand words".

The cake smash ... part of it!

Throughout the reception I was able to take some great shots of the couples ...

And by the end of the night, my favorite image of the bride and groom is ...

Thank you for viewing some images and memories taken during Maria and Jon's wedding!
